I started playing video games with my father when I was four years old. World of Warcraft, the game which took over my childhood was the first of many games which I’ve “completed”. I am currently 19 years old (5/2/2018), and have played well over 200 different games investing many hours in each one.
It is said that in order for one to truly master an art, he or she must invest 10,000 hours to it, which then and only then, can one call themselves a master. I recently calculated the amount of hours I’ve put into gaming alone, and to date, I’ve got 18,527.34 hours and counting, currently invested into my gaming career. That being said, I like to think of myself as a master of the art of gaming.
Over all this time, I’ve accumulated knowledge most players dream of knowing, but never do: How to get started on a professional level, no matter the genre. Each game has a professional scene. Some in versions of tournaments, others in terms of fan base. I have used my skills and knowledge of how to enter such scenes in a number of games: World of Warcraft (PvP), Lord of the Rings (PvE and PvP), Call of Duty, Gears of War, Minecraft, and Radical Heights, just to name a few…
Over the past three-to-four years, I have gotten big in the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive scene which for those who don’t know what it is, it’s a First Person Shooter game where Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists face off in a 5v5 map in a best of 30 rounds game.
Recently, in the “age of eSports”, Counter-Strike and other eSport games alike have been booming because of tournaments being broadcasted, live on YouTube, Facebook, Twitch, and on television, on TBS in particular.
